Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a relatively new hair transplantation technique. The surgeon, after removing individual follicular units under local anaesthesia, punctures the sites for receiving the grafts and inserts them in their final place in a predetermined density. As there is no skin cutting, no scars are created.

VF LASER CLINIC’s scientific team succeeded to evolve the Follicular Unit Extraction method, by creating a special hair transplantation technique, named as FUE Back.

The significant advantage of FUE Back over classic FUE, is that the extraction of individual follicular units can be done without requiring an adequate elasticity of skin (tight scalp laxity).

As a result:

• the number of follicles that can be transferred is larger,
• hair transplantation can be done in patients with extremely severe baldness.

In Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT), the surgeon removes a number of strips of hair-bearing tissue with the assistance of a scalpel, and then dissects the strip into follicular units. Then, he inserts the follicular units in their final place. As there are incisions (skin cutting), some scars are created.

It is based on the FUT method, with the significant difference that the strips are removed in a way that permits new hair to grow inside the incision.
