A woman’s breasts often change over time, losing their shape, firmness and elasticity. There are various causes for these kinds of breast changes, including heredity, weight fluctuations, pregnancy, breastfeeding, gravity, etc.

During a breast lift surgery (also known as mastopexy), excess skin is removed while the surrounding tissue is tightened in order to reshape and support the new breast contour. Breasts become fuller in the upper portion, having a firmer and youthful appearance.

As noted above, breast lift procedures vary depending on the case. Our experienced plastic surgeons always apply strict medical protocols in order to determine the most suitable cosmetic surgery technique for each patient and achieve the best outcome.

Depending on the case, incisions might be made around the areolae (the area surrounding the nipples), horizontally (along the breast creases) or extending downward from the areolae to the breast creases. All surgical procedures consist of removing part of the breast skin, moving the nipple upward and reshaping the remaining tissue into a higher configuration. If an increase in size is desired as well, the procedure could be combined with the insertion of breast implants.

Breast lift surgery is performed under a “light” general anesthetic, in order to ensure both maximal operating conditions and patient safety and comfort. The surgical procedure typically lasts 1,5 – 2,5 hours. Usually, the patient can go home on the same day.

Ptosis or saggy breasts are the most common reason for a breast lift. Thus, if you have noticed an observable change in the volume, shape, firmness or elasticity of your breasts (especially following weight loss, pregnancy, or nursing), you may be a good candidate.

The breast lift procedure is performed under general anesthesia and lasts 1.5 -2.5 hours, depending on the case.

Breast lift procedures vary depending on the case and they’ re are particular to each patient. Usually, the cut lies around the upper part of the nipple areola or around the areola. However, there are cases that the incision should reach downward vertically or horizontally beneath the breast, in order to achieve the best results.

Postoperatively, the patient stays in the hospital for one night and returns home the next morning. Modern plastic surgery techniques have greatly reduced the degree of patient discomfort. However, because breast augmentation is still a surgery, we  may experience some pain after the surgery. This pain is treated with simple painkillers and soon subsides within a few days.

After the procedure and for a period of 20 to 30 days, the breast is tender. During this time we need to wear a special sports bra, and it is recommended that we avoid physical exercise and sexual intercourse.

The patient may return to work after a few days. If her work requires physical exercise, an additional 7-10 days of recovery are needed. The sutures are removed about 2 weeks after the surgery.

Due to the healing process, the final results become visible gradually as the appearance of the scars improves.

The cost of a breast lift depends on the size of the problem, the technique used and whether a silicone implant will be placed.

Tiny medical threads are implanted subcutaneously into the soft tissue, lifting the breast. At the same time, collagen production is activated, enhancing the result.

The cost of this method is clearly much lower than invasive breast lift. The duration of results ranges from 18 -24 months, and the procedure can be repeated.
