NATURAL DERMATOLOGICAL ACNE TREATMENT WITH LASER

CLEAN SKIN, WITHOUT MEDICATION

Acne occurs when the sebaceous glands produce excessive amounts of sebum. While this usually happens in adolescence, nowadays there are many cases of adults suffering from acne for various reasons (e.g. heredity, androgen overproduction, use of inappropriate cosmetics, stress, etc.).

At Laser VF Clinics, we essentially treat acne with natural dermatological methods, based on personalized photodynamic LASER treatments, without medication and side effects.

In this way, we offer a natural and effective solution to the problem of acne, a solution that can be applied with absolute safety regardless of the season, that is, even in periods of the year with high sunshine.

HOW THE TREATMENT WORKS

At Laser VF Clinics, we use the natural method of photodynamic therapy to utilize the therapeutic properties of visible light (400-760nm). In total contrast to infrared radiation (760-3000nm) and UVA – UVB – UVC (190-400nm), which cause photo-aging, dryness, etc., visible light is not only safe but also curative.

With photodynamic therapy, we act specifically and precisely on acne bacteria and inflammation.

In this way, the propionibacteria are destroyed, since the photosensitive substances (porphyrins) they produce react with visible light and automatically generate a powerful bactericidal agent (singlet oxygen), resulting in their weakening. The now weakened propionibacteria are destroyed by the body’s defence cells.

Acne appears in various forms, the main types of appearance are:

Comedones(closed or open): These are the common white and black spots, with the black ones on the surface of the skin, and the white ones underneath.
Papules: These are small, reddish bumps, which are sensitive to touch. The papules can be inflammatory or non-inflammatory.
Pustules: These are bumps that are red at the base and pus on top. The pustules are inflammatory.
Nodules: These are solid bumps under the surface of the skin, which often cause discomfort or pain. They can cause scarring.
Cysts: They are located under the skin and are full of pus. They are painful and can cause scarring.

Grade 1: It is a mild form of acne that usually occurs in early adolescence, and sometimes in adults, on various areas of the face. Closed or open comedones are observed, in greater or lesser numbers. The treatment is simple at this stage.
Grade 2: It is a moderate form of acne, which occurs in adolescents and adults, on various areas of the face and body. Closed or open comedones are observed in relatively large numbers, as well as papules and pustules. It is recommended to be treated, as at this stage any progression to grade 3 can be prevented.
Grade 3: This is a relatively serious form of acne that needs to be treated. Comedones, papules and pustules are observed in relatively large numbers, while nodules also appear on various areas of the face and body.
Grade 4: This is the most serious form of acne that needs systematic treatment. Comedones, papules, pustules, nodules and cysts are observed, usually in extensive areas of the face and body. It is a painful form with severe flares.

Photodynamic therapy can be applied to any part of the face and body where the acne problem occurs.
It is a completely painless and safe treatment that does not interfere with the patient’s normal activities. The only contraindications are for people with photosensitivity and certain diseases.

The number of sessions depends on various factors such as the degree and extent of the problem, the phototype of the skin, etc.
An important advantage of photodynamic therapy is that even after the end of the treatment, the inflammation continues to decrease for a period of 3-4 months.
