HOW THE TREATMENT WORKS
PDO / COG threads (polydioxanone threads) are nothing more than surgical threads. They have been used in surgical procedures for the last 30 years, and are fully absorbable by the body and completely safe. The threads are of course CE certified.
Based on the patient’s history and individual factors, such as skin characteristics, the doctor selects the most suitable type of threads.
In a thread lifting, we essentially create a mesh of threads under the skin, which lifts and supports the tissues, while improving the texture of the skin.
Using tiny needles, the doctor inserts the threads either horizontally or vertically into the problem area. Depending on the goals of the treatment, a smaller or larger number of threads are used. Before the application, a mild local anesthesia with cream is applied, so that there is no sense of discomfort.
The threads not only lift and reshape the eye area, but also activate the fibroblasts, resulting in increased production of collagen and elastin, for a relatively long time after application.
